Mental distress leads to mental health disorders. It is a major problem. But, our experienced psychiatric and medical doctors put much effort on psychiatric nursing care can assist you. http://www.shadithyahospital.com/inpatient-wards/ Admission unit with specialized psychiatric nursing care We have a purpose built ‘inpatient admission ward’ for people suffering from a mental health problem, who are acutely unwell, to a degree that care needs to be provided in a hospital setting. This ward provides a safe and therapeutic environment for assessment, and treatment for a range of mental health disorders, in the most acute and vulnerable stage of their illness. This is a 15 bedded unit with separate rooms for male and female inpatients and provision for carers to stay with them, who are willing to. The patients reside on the ward for a period of time (usually few days to weeks) The service is 24 hours a day. These are open wards and allow treatment in the least restrictive manner possible. These wards are specially built with adequate planning to minimise risks and maximise the safety of the patients who are mentally distressed. We have a special ‘De-escalation Unit’ with trained nursing staff, for people who are presenting with disturbing and challenging behaviour. There will be provisions for 24 hour medical care from psychiatric and medical Doctors. All aspects of physical and mental health, social care needs and risks are jointly managed by a multidisciplinary team comprising of doctors, psychiatric nurses, psychologists, occupational therapist and mental health support workers. All staffs are trained in risk assessment and management and can deal effectively with patients at risk of self harm, suicide, agitation & violent behaviour. During their stay, the patients will be involved in meaningful physical and mental activities to offer structure and stimulation throughout the day. The Doctors and other staff members will aim to offer psycho-education to patients and their families, run group activities and provide supportive counselling to deal with mental health issues. The care plan will be tailored to the individual needs of the patient, and would involve both the patient and the carers involved in their care. There will be appropriate discharge planning arrangements with follow-up plans and a crisis management plan in place with 24 hours helpline support.
